Closed Circuit Television at the Port of Vladivostok

New hi-tech Closed Circuit Television system (CCTV) based on ISS SecurOS Video Surveillance Framework guarantees cargo safety at the port and allows Customs to monitor loading-discharging works round-the-clock as well as coordinate operations with port departments.

According to Alexander Tsymbal, Deputy Security Director, the port's area of 50ha is monitored by 124 fixed and pan/tilt cameras installed on special super structures and pole-mounted lights as well as on some types of cargo handling equipment. The system is integrated into the internal security network which allows to transmit data on a limited set of monitors, the number of which can be increased if required. The project totaling 10mln Roubles has been realized for a year and a half.

Access to the port's CCTV system is granted to port departments, Customs, security department and customers. It allows round-the-clock on-line monitoring and coordination of the operations at port facilities, cargo handling works and rolling stock movement within the port's territory. Customs can exercise 24-hour control over loading-discharging works.

Introduction of CCTV at the Port of Vladivostok is one of the steps for the establishment of the integrated information system for Vladivostok Transportation Network. This project is aimed at integration of all players of logistics chain, i.e. railway, freight forwarders, agents, the port and Customs in common information space.
