Storage Facilities for New Cars in Operation

Commercial Port of Vladivostok  plans to increase the share of new cars in the overall imports. Therefore storage facilities for new cars have been brought into compliance with the standards of leading foreign car makers.
Open storage areas were modernized as follows:

- parking spaces were increased in size;
- vehicle counting, security and firefighting systems were upgraded;
- security fencing was installed;

Port logistic system was reviewed with special transshipment zones allocated. Redeveloped storage facilities are now fully operational.

The share of new cars in the overall car import volume is planned to be increased from 18% (in 2011) up to 25%. Taking into consideration growing demand for new cars and developing distribution network in Siberia and Russian Far East, Vladivostok Automobile Terminal attracts more and more freight forwarders – representatives of well-known Japanese and South Korean car makers.
