Commercial Port of Vladivostok Increases Import Vehicle Storage Area

Additional storage area designed for handling new import cars and wheeled and tracked heavy vehicles has been put into operation in Commercial Port of Vladivostok.

Total area of new open storage at the port’s dedicated automobile terminal is circa 1 ha. Available parking space, recordkeeping, security and fire safety systems comply with requirements of the leading foreign automakers.

The handling of new foreign cars is one of the key priorities of Commercial Port of Vladivostok. In 2012 the port handled 76,560 import cars and heavy-duty vehicles, up 16% over 2011. The share of new cars handled accounts for more than 16%. With upswing in demand for new import cars and the development of distribution networks in Siberia and Russian Far East, Commercial Port of Vladivostok is looking forward to significantly increase this figure by providing efficient and effective services to freight forwarding companies representing the interests of well-known foreign automakers.

Commercial Port of Vladivostok is able to handle up to 150,000 units of vehicles per annum. Currently four ro-ro lines, namely FESCO Ro-Ro Line, Eastern Car Liner, SIEM CAR CARRIERS, FESCO Russian Pacific Line are calling at the port, thus connecting it with the ports of Japan and the USA.
