Ruslan Alikhanov: "In order to maximize the utilization of transport logistics potential, the appropriate infrastructure and technological solutions are necessary, especially in the segment of multimodal transportation"

The President of FESCO Transportation Group took part in "New Silk Route", the II International Transport and Logistics Business Forum, which was held on November 7-8, 2013 in Kazakhstan.

The participants of the Forum discussed the key measures that can help to improve the competitiveness of the economy of Kazakhstan in the field of transport. Among these were: modernization of the transport infrastructure, creation of a network of transport and logistics centres, formation of attractive tariff conditions for the transit of container traffic with the use of through rates.

The President of FESCO noted, during meetings with business partners within the Forum, the common challenges faced by Russia and Kazakhstan in the area of transport systems development.  Kazakhstan is making considerable efforts to implement "New Silk Route" Project. Russia is planning a major reconstruction of transportation routes, the modernization of which will facilitate the development of Russian transit.

"The experience and key issues in the development of the transportation systems of Russia and Kazakhstan confirm that further progress is only possible thanks to the synergy of the different modes of transportation. "In order to maximize the utilization of transport logistics potential, the appropriate infrastructure and technological solutions are necessary, especially in the segment of multimodal transportation," Ruslan Alikhanov stated.
